Arsenal injury news: Gunners pair Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney pictured in training, plus positive update on Rob Holding

Arsenal defenders Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney have edged closer to returning from long-term injuries, while Rob Holding could feature this weekend.

The trio are yet to play for Arsenal this season, leaving the club worryingly short of options in defence.

Holding and Bellerin have been recovering from serious knee injuries, with both of them suffering a ruptured ACL mid-way through last season.

Meanwhile, summer-signing Tierney, who joined from Celtic, continues to recover from a double hernia operation.

But Gunners fans can look forward to seeing all three of them within the next month, after Bellerin and Tierney were pictured participating in training on Thursday.

Holding, meanwhile, has already returned to action with the club’s Under-23s and is available for selection.

The Gunners say Bellerin and Tierney are both ‘progressing well’ with on-field rehabilitation, paving the way for a potential return to action in September.

Tierney’s debut cannot come soon enough, following the departure of Nacho Monreal to Real Sociedad, which leaves Sead Kolasinac as the only available left-back for Unai Emery right now.
